Birth Doula Package Details:
Initial meeting: This initial meeting is free. We can do this face-to-face or over the phone. It is a chance for us to get to know each other and see if we will be a good fit to work together. I will be able to answer any questions you might have about my services and what it will be like for us to work together.
First prenatal visit: Doula care is all about relationship. The prenatal meetings give us an opportunity to continue to get to know each other and form a trusting relationship that will be beneficial during labor. During the first prenatal visit we will talk about your expectations, fears, concerns, and hopes for labor and delivery. We will go over any questions you might have. We will discuss your preferences for labor and delivery, including pain management and how we feel we will best work together. I can offer resources to help you make informed decisions and create a birth plan.
Second prenatal visit: During the second prenatal visit we will review your birthing preferences and I can answer any questions to help you feel as calm and prepared as possible for your upcoming birth. I will offer tools and suggestions to help you through the early stages of labor before I join you. We will also talk about what you can expect after the birth of your baby as you head into the postpartum period.
Phone, text, and email support: Once I have received a signed contract and deposit, I am available for you to contact me anytime. I am more than happy to answer any questions. I never get tired of talking about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum!
Attendance at labor, birth, and postpartum: Once your labor has started I can either meet you in your home and support you as you labor there before heading to the hospital/birth center, or I can meet you directly at the hospital/birth center. I will stay for the duration of your labor and for 1-2 hours after the birth. After the birth I will help you initiate breastfeeding and help you to get settled in as a new family. We can discuss how you feel I can be most supportive to you in this time, as it is different for everyone.
*If for reasons beyond my control, I am unable to attend your birth, a back up doula will be provided.
Contact me to schedule a complimentary interview. I would love to meet you and learn about your desires for your birth!
